Our Work in Śierra Leonne

During our last trip to Africa, we visited the same city and country where Michael’s father was raised. When we went to Śierra Leonne, we were pleasantly surprised by several people that impressed us. We met a family that had son that had an outstanding personality. His name is Joseph. Joseph was a curious 11 year old boy.  He was flabbergasted about us because we mentioned that we are from the United State and we were visiting for a few weeks. He asked us if he could spend some time with us for a few days. We spent a quantity of time with him.  Then he asked us to take him to the beach and we agreed. At the beach he ran far ahead of us when we found him we were very surprised by what he did. He pointed down to the sand and told us to look .  When we did, we saw that he had written "Thanks Mr. Cole".  He was so grateful for everything we did for him.

We also met an older couple with a family. Everyone was very friendly and willing to chat.  They loved the fact that we were Americans. We were later informed that the older man needed some medical surgery. He had tumors that had to be removed. The Higher than me ministry gave him finances that he needed for his surgery. He accepted the finances and had the tumors removed. It was wonderful that the ministry could assist in his recovery.

The Higher than me foundation has also helped individuals starting and attending college in Śierra Leonne. Specifically assisting a student named Mary financially while in secondary high school striving to reach her professional goals by attending and studying diligently at the famous and renowned educational institution of Śierra Leonne , the Fourah Bay College or what is known as FBC. The Higher Than Me Foundation provided finances for her to attend and she is developing educationally on the college level.
